Hub Dementia Advice and Support

Face-to-face drop-in, appointment, on the phone or via email

Whether you are:

  • Concerned that you may have difficulties with your memory but have not yet seen anyone.

  • Are on a waiting list for specialist assessment that could lead to a diagnosis of Dementia.

  • Already received a diagnosis

Our Dementia Advisors can help you find services you may need or people who can give you specialist advice, all the hub and advice services are free.

We can spend time with you helping you to understand what is happening, offer practical advice and look at things you can do to maintain your wellbeing whether you are a person living with Dementia or are supporting someone who has, we can help.

We have connections with lots of other organisations so if we don’t know or you need something we don’t offer we can help find someone who can.

SUPPORT
Memory Cafe

We run two Memory Cafes each week in one of our rooms upstairs from Moments Cafe on the first floor ( Lift at the back of the cafe). 

On Mondays and Wednesdays 1 pm until 3 pm every week. 

This is an opportunity for people living with Dementia and those supporting them to meet together and take part in a group where all activities are planned to stimulate and encourage people with Dementia to participate in any way they can and to have fun. 

The cost of the session is £2 per person and this covers Tea/Coffee.

SUPPORT
Cognitive Stimulation Therapy

Memory Matters provide Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) Groups, above Moments Café in Plymouth City Centre, this started in May 2022 and will continue free of charge until March 2025.

Our FREE CST groups are for people living with mild to moderate dementia (this includes people awaiting a diagnosis) who would like to get involved in activities that stimulate the brain in a social setting.

SUPPORT
Young Onset Group

Memory Matters run a Young Onset Group.

The purpose of this group is to bring together those that have been diagnosed with dementia before the age of 66, to provide peer support, have some fun, learn and be there for each other.

This group will be guided by you with the support of Memory Matters and the Dementia Advisor Service from Livewell. During the session, you will gain will have the chance to support each other and take part in different activities.

This group will meet once a month on a Saturday between 10:30am - 12:30pm.

The meeting will take place in the Memory Matters Hub above Moments Cafe, 69a New George Street, PL1 1RJ.
