OUR STORY
Changing the face of dementia support

In 2010 Memory Matters was born. An organisation to help change the face of dementia support in our community.

The aim of Memory Matters has always been to provide meaningful services that respond to the needs expressed by people living with dementia. We believe that having access to compassionate support, therapies and peer-led activities enables people to live well with their dementia.

In March 2017, Memory Matters opened Moments Café in Plymouth City Centre, with a trip down memory lane for most, and a calming, friendly atmosphere for all. All profits from the café help to sustain Memory Matters, enabling us to provide support for people living with dementia, as well as offering FREE services in our Memory Matters Hub.

Kate Smith leads the organisation as sole CEO, with the strong support of a dedicated board of directors, a team of experienced operational managers and a fabulous, warm and friendly team.
